We are asking our guests to be in formal attire. We kindly request that you wear a suit and tie, a full-or midi-length dress, or elegant separates. We appreciate you helping us make this a special night!

Our ceremony will begin promptly at 5:30 pm. We recommend arriving at the William Aiken House at least 15 minutes ahead of the ceremony start time to ensure you have enough time to find a seat.

The average high in Charleston in April is 73 degrees Fahrenheit and the average low is 61 degrees. While we hope for a warm and sunny wedding weekend, please monitor the weather in advance and pack accordingly!

Our ceremony, dinner, and reception will be outdoors in the garden, while cocktail hour will take place indoors. Guests will walk to the garden on paved pathways, but will need to step on grass turf briefly to take their seats.

We will not be providing organized transportation for the weekend. All of our weekend events as well as our hotel blocks are within just a few blocks of one another. We encourage our guests to take a short stroll and admire historic Charleston! If you require transportation, please find parking information below.

The William Aiken House is located on upper King Street. So while they do not offer on-site parking, there is metered street parking available nearby, as well as the Visitor’s Center Parking Garage close by. Plus, the William Aiken House is conveniently located within walking distance to several downtown hotels.

Yes! All of the grounds and the house are handicap accessible, including an elevator for second-floor access and handicap-accessible restrooms on each floor.
